Bus stop Hallsta village
The project Bus stop Hallsta village aims to create a versatile gathering place in Romfartuna. The voluntary efforts are significant and the collective work for the community is one of the cornerstones of the collaboration and social cohesion that the project aims to achieve.
About the project
In ancient times, Hallsta By had a shooting lodge, a ”bus stop” for travelers and their horses where they could find safety, rest, and food, but which also served as a meeting place for social contact, information exchange, and glimpses from the outside world.
In modern times, local residents and visitors have a need for functioning public transport in the countryside, and at Hallsta village there is today one of the bus stops along national road 56 through Romfartuna. The project strives for people to stop by, visit us, and participate. Gain new knowledge, new perspectives, and contacts. For many years, there has been a lack of gathering places and activity areas for members, residents, associations, and businesses in Romfartuna and surrounding areas. The willingness to develop the locality exists. There is a lack of forums and a common place for information, knowledge, discussion, debate, and engagement. The project will meet the need for a content-rich gathering place in the community for year-round use, by utilizing the old barn.
The board has decided to prioritize the application for support to the Romfartuna local heritage association, which aims to:
-increase attractiveness, development, and collaboration in the community.
-stimulate residence and stay in the countryside in general and in Romfartuna in particular.
-promote local businesses and cultural practitioners.
Romfartuna local heritage association is the project owner but collaborates with local businesses and independent professionals: Tomta Gård, Aros Handelshus AB,
Harakers Bygg AB, Larsson Bygg & Event, Broberget Bergtäkt AB, Lisas Skinnverkstad, Mias Skafferi, Ringar af Mynt, etc.
