Small support for business development

The support is intended for small businesses with existing operations that want to develop. The support is therefore not a start-up support for completely new businesses.

To be eligible to apply for the support, the company must have a maximum of 10 employees and it must be registered within the Leader Mälardalen geographical area, see map here.

The company can receive up to 50,000 kronor in support for various business development initiatives. This can include, for example, business development, diversification, skills development, product development, certifications, or marketing efforts. It can also involve becoming more sustainable or more digital.

The support is primarily designed for ”softer” initiatives, but also, for example, smaller equipment is eligible for support, as long as the purpose is business development. Physical equipment in the projects may cost a maximum of 24,000 SEK excluding VAT, and the initiatives must not include any investments.

The support can be used to purchase, for example, a consulting service, but it cannot be used for salary costs in the company. Other eligible costs include, for example, rent or purchase of equipment and materials, marketing… yes, ”almost anything” aimed at the development of the company and that is not operational costs.

Only initiatives that have not started before the application is submitted to Leader and initiatives that would not be carried out without Leader support can be granted funding. We will assess the company's financial status and the need for support.

NOTE that the support is paid out against the reporting of paid costs, so the company needs to be able to cover expenses during implementation. However, it is possible to partially report costs in the project to receive partial payments of the granted support.

You can apply for a maximum of 50,000 SEK in support, a maximum of 70% of the project's cost.
The entire project may cost a maximum of 100,000 SEK and the company needs to contribute at least 30% of the financing.

Each company can be granted a maximum of 50,000 SEK in support per year. A company that has received the maximum support can apply again no earlier than one year after the final payment.
