Sports for all
The project sports for all aims to lower the threshold for participation in its activities so that more will want to participate. The goal is a strengthened public health.
About the project
Fjärdhundraland Sports Club is a small association in a community that wants to contribute to increased joy of movement, more wellness activities, and thus better public health! We want to do this by making visible the activities we offer, adapting our offerings to what the residents of Fjärdhundra want, and reducing performance pressure. We believe that reducing pressure and stress before performing is key to getting more active in sports.
It is a challenge for both young athletes and leaders in associations today to resist the demands and expectations to be skilled and perform at a young age. The sports movement is trying to counteract this in many different ways, but when it comes to competitions in any form, it is difficult! We want the new training sessions we offer to be free from this. It should be playful and fun, and everyone should be able to participate. There are activities in Enköping, which is the city closest. However, this entails travel and increased costs for families, which we know not everyone can afford. We want to make it easy and accessible for the residents of Fjärdhundra to engage in sports and experience joy of movement!
The goal is to offer an increased range of activities for all children, youth, and adults in Fjärdhundra. Offer training sessions where everyone is given the opportunity to participate. Training sessions that should not require prior knowledge but be accessible to all.
If we let children, youth, and adults try different activities together, we believe that we lower the threshold for participation and increase the likelihood that those who try will want to continue. We want to offer the activities that we are already offering in the association, and we want to offer activities that we may be able to introduce and continue to offer if there is interest.
