Future Heaven

A collaborative project to create attractiveness and community.

About the project

Himmeta Bro Bygderåd is a non-profit association that is an umbrella organization for all associations in Himmeta. Our members are all residents of Himmeta and the board represents all associations as well as the local business community. The Bygderåd is primarily a collaboration between associations, businesses, and people in the community, with the aim that Himmeta – Bro should be a vibrant area in development.

We want to create new opportunities for meeting places where people of all ages can find various activities that promote collaboration on all levels based on their circumstances. We want to encourage spontaneous meeting places but also organized ones. Through this project, we aim to benefit public health, both physical and mental. Of course, we want to create a pleasant place to be, but the journey is the most important part; creating this together is the goal. We want to take advantage of the fantastic resources available in our village and contribute to new connections being made and support the local business community in the area.

The purpose is primarily that we together create something that benefits collaboration and community in the area. We want to increase engagement in all the different associations in Himmeta and also enhance cooperation between the various associations. We want this fantastic scenic place to be usable year-round. From an environmental perspective, we believe it is important to arrange activities and meeting places at the local level where people of all ages can meet based on their circumstances. We want this place to be accessible for strollers, walkers, wheelchairs, and to meet the different needs of all people.

Fundamentally, this project is rooted in the fact that Himmeta school has been threatened with closure at various times. The Bygderåd, together with the Parents' Association in Himmeta, called for a meeting at the Bygdegården on November 15, 2022. Everyone in the village was welcome, and we also invited politicians from Köpings municipality. There was a good turnout, and we placed the participants around different tables so that everyone could discuss how we can collaborate with the various resources available, both regarding the municipality and the local associations, etc. The engagement was high, and many
good ideas emerged.
